Lee Tergesen plays Philomen Keating, a criminal
mastermind in vice-laden 1865 New York City.
Keating is a highly intelligent, charismatic and utterly
ruthless counterfeiter. His character personifies a new type of
criminal that emerged in the Civil War era: professional
counterfeiters who exploited the new federal "greenback" currency as
a route to fortune.
TV Guide wrote: "Keating is brainy, dapper, charismatic ... and
an utterly ruthless psychopath. When his people take over the sixth
precinct police headquarters, the body count starts to rise."
"Copper" is a BBC America original series that was co-created by
"Oz" mastermind Tom Fontana and Will Rokos.
The series follows Kevin Corcoran (Tom Weston-Jones),
an Irish-American detective -- or "copper" -- who has returned from
the Civil War to find his wife missing and his daughter dead. He
looks to uncover the truth while seeking justice for the powerless
in the notorious immigrant neighborhood of Five Points. |
